Lisa Gillispie, LPCC, SEP, NARM™ Therapist
With over 25 years as a trauma-informed bodyworker, I have a long history of supporting people going through challenging times and that background informs my counseling practice today.
I have completed the certificate programs in both Somatic Experiencing, a body-oriented approach to working with trauma, and the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) for working with attachment and developmental trauma.
In my counseling practice, I use these models to help adult individuals address the underlying dynamics that drive issues such as anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges.
I work collaboratively with clients, integrating both a cognitive and a body-oriented approach to get to the root of what is driving behavior patterns that no longer serve them. My clients are looking for help to:
get relief from the anxiety that keeps them up at night
shift patterns keeping them stuck and unsatisfied in their relationship or career
establish close, supportive relationships
reduce relationship conflict
increase capacity for emotional and physical intimacy
be able to relax into the present moment without feeling like there’s a fire alarm going off in the background 24/7
set healthy boundaries without feeling guilty
navigate life without constantly feeling overwhelmed
get relief from shame, self-judgment, and self-hatred
If you are looking for support in navigating life challenges and want to experience more calm, more ease, and less overwhelm, I invite you to contact me to see if my approach would be a good fit.
